Absrtact. The text is an interview with Alexander Ivanovich Pigalev, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor, Leading Researcher at the Department of Philosophy, Volgograd State University. In 2022, Professor Pigalev turned seventy years old. The interview took place in August 2022. A.I. Pigalev talks about his path to philosophy, the circumstances of his professional development, the thinkers who influenced him, the key issues of our time, the philosophical technique of thinking, and the peculiarities of his work as a philosopher and translator of philosophical texts. A.I. Pigalev became interested in philosophy while studying at the Faculty of Physics of Gorky University, where he studied quantum field theory, thanks to his acquaintance with V.V. Kalinichenko and A.I. Alyoshin. After graduating from the university A.I. Pigalev enters the graduate school of Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov, where he writes and successfully defends his Ph.D. thesis on the ideological aspects of science. In Moscow, thanks to the founded V.I. Kuptsov, head of the Department of Philosophy of the natural faculties, the postgraduate seminar managed to listen to more than a dozen lectures by famous Moscow philosophers, among whom was E.V. Ilyenkov. A.I. Pigalev was influenced by soviet (P.P. Gaidenko and M.K. Mamardashvili), and foreign (M. Heidegger, T. Adorno, J.-P. Sartre, Hegel) thinkers. A.I. Pigalev discusses the circumstances of the translations of texts by J.-P. Sartre, E. Rosenstock-Hussy. A.I. Pigalev talks about the technique of philosophical thinking, which refers to the ways of approaching the subject, the ability to see its internal logic and its contexts, to formulate a philosophical problem, to navigate philosophical currents, to understand their origins and goals. The most important issue of our time Professor Pigalev calls the problem of attitude to modern and the modernization processes through which cultures and national philosophical traditions go through. In particular, sophiology is a doctrine of a special type of integrity, an inclusive model of unity, built on an inclusive, conjunctive principle. At the end of the conversation, Professor Pigalev shares the details of his work on his texts.
