QUALITATIVE METHODS AS AN INVESTIGATION BASIS

Abstract: The article considers different potentials of the qualitative and quantitative methods as applied to sociological research. The concepts of political elite and regional political elite are defined alongside the specific job positions which pertain to the political elite. The author argues that the method of indepth qualitative interviews is more appropriate for the regional elite analysis and specifies the research stages and their characteristics.
