Abstract. "Freedom" is considered by the Society of Jesus in many different aspects. The question of the nature of this category pops up in the Society of Jesus, but not clearly and openly. The freedom represents the dualism of subordination and absolute power, humility and impunity. One of the major controversies in relation to this category is the confrontation between the secular and spiritual freedom. The integral part of the consideration of the category of "freedom" in the framework of the Society of Jesus is a rethinking of values and a new set of priorities in relation to the degree of importance of giving personal dependency in favor of collective freedom and permissiveness.
Key words: category of "Freedom", Society of Jesus, order of Jesuits, dualism, antagonism.
