Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of the role of philosophical education in the awareness of responsibility to the future. Such responsibility is associated with obligations, in the implementation of which various subjects must take into account the long-term consequences of their actions, their impact on new generations, and ensure that these generations inherit a more perfect world and have access to various opportunities and resources. The components of responsibility to the future, the grounds for its imputation and acceptance, are identified. It is indicated that critical thinking plays a major role in the awareness of responsibility to the future, the development of which occurs through philosophical education and is necessary for making informed, responsible decisions and understanding how personal choice affects broader social problems. Ideas about the interconnectedness of processes occurring in the world, obtained through philosophical education, help to put long-term results above immediate benefits, identify and overcome the underlying causes of present and future problems, and recognize the importance of preventive measures. It is noted that in the process of working with philosophical texts, respect for different points of view is formed, the ability to empathize with others and accept and understand their position develops, which allows one to pay attention to the difficulties and needs of future generations and take actions motivated by concern for their well-being. It is emphasized that philosophical education provides an opportunity to gain an idea of the influence of socio-cultural conditions on worldview, helps to see beyond national and cultural boundaries, cultivating tolerance, forming intercultural sensitivity and awareness, which leads to an increase in the scope of responsibility, the inclusion of representatives of diverse communities in it, and is of decisive importance for successfully overcoming disagreements, setting and achieving common goals oriented towards the future, building a responsible society.
Key words: responsibility to the future, future generations, philosophical education, critical thinking, responsible society.
