Abstract. The article makes an attempt at sociological and socio-anthropological substantiation of regionally oriented communication, identifying its prerequisites, organizational features and significance in the context of modern social dynamics. Highlighting the invariant features that characterize regional spaces (internal integration, limitedness, specific subjectivity), the authors show that cultural texts that organize the signsymbolic reality of a regional scale contain a hidden intention of cultural expansion, not only marking the specifics of regional culture, but also broadcasting the aggregate experience of the regional community. Improvement of the regional cultural text, its entry to the level of metatext, which fixes regional identity in its correlation with the outside world, opens up new prospects for the existence of local communities – the prospects for transregional communications and associations. The internal logic of regional life, conditioned by the unity of the natural environment, history, the level of civilizational progress, as well as the political will of the governing elite, contributes to the creation of specific forms of life, social technologies, and cultural projects. As it appears to the authors, the heuristic of regionally oriented textual activity consists in the emerging concept of co-evolution of internal and external, local and global, built, if not on the ideals of understanding and harmony, then on the ideas of mutual communication and dialogue. The method of identifying invariant features of the region proposed by the authors is used to study the identity of the Volgograd region. Studies show that the symbolic matrix of the culture of the Volgograd region is the concepts of "winner", "creator", "unifier". The approach presented in this study is permeated with the idea of rapprochement of philosophical discourse with theoretical models of sociology and social anthropology, as well as with empirical studies of cultural practices in social anthropology and sociology. According to the authors, only the integration of knowledge about culture makes it possible to expand the horizons of cultural creativity, the possibilities of self-realization of cultural subjects, thereby contributing to the creation of a communicative space and symbolic forms aimed at resolving crises, eliminating contradictions, achieving existential comfort, optimizing life in a social environment. transformation.
Key words: regional culture, text, communication, locality, local value identity, values.
