TERRORISM AS THE MODERNIZATION BY-EFFECT IN THE JURGEN HABERMAS’S CONCEPTION OF MODERN

Abstract: The project «modern» destiny is discussed in the view of changes within the modern geopolitical balance of forces: the split of the West, threats of the international terrorism, the unstable political situation in the East, the UNO and American government confrontation. Ju.Habermas interprets the phenomenon of «global terrorism» in the modernistic discourse as a defensive reaction against the West secularizational. Habermas' ideological position is determined as «maximum rationalism» of the «old left-wing» and is criticized by the postmodernistic philosophers' alternative positions.
