Abstract: The article analyzes the background and historical context of the Mahabodhi architectural complex, which was built on the site of Buddha Shakyamuni enlightenment. The Mahabpdhi temple is considered to be not only an architecture masterpiece but also as a palace-mandala projection, representing Buddhas deepest realization.
