TOWARDS REGIONAL IDENTITY

Abstract: The article puts forwards an assumption that cultural symbols and meanings are of primary importance for shaping identity. On the basis of L. Gumilev's concept, a variant of shaping social myth as a descriptive strategy balancing disordered social activity is offered. Features of shaping regional identity are considered.
