Abstract: This article examines the localization of responsibility for one's well-being as a factor which in many respects determines behavior of individuals as well as of large social groups. The localization of responsibility is determined by a value system appropriated throughout the socialization process. Therefore, it substantially depends on a generational affiliation. The relevance of that concept (localization of responsibility) for a sociological study is presented. Thorough examination and analysis of findings displayed a steady relation between locus of control and everyday economic practices of Russian residents.
Key words: locus of control (responsibility), welfare, everyday's life, Russian regions.
