Abstract: This paper deals with the problem of social rationality within the theoretical-methodological framework of post-non-classic (universum) sociology. The author gives the definition to social rationality and describes its structural and dynamic characteristics. Then, E. Durkheim's theory of social solidarity is analyzed from the viewpoint of the universum conception of social rationality. The levels of social rationality and E. Durkheim's types of solidarity are correlated in order to provide rationalization for the "superorganic" type of social solidarity, corresponding to the post-conventional level of social rationality.
Key words: social rationality, post-non-classic (universum) approach, social solidarity, E. Durkheim's theory of social solidarity.
