Abstract. This article is an attempt of theoretical substantiation of the factors of change in service space in the global development of service relationships and structures of the service. On the basis of scientific concepts of social space (P. Sorokin, P. Bourdieu, G. Simmel and others) the structural characteristics of a service space as an institutional field of service are determined. The paper presents the status-role structure of the service space, as well as the social mechanisms of its development, competition in the market of services and collaboration that serve as humanitarian-oriented technologies of interactions between the actors of service. It is noted that the design of the service space defined by the uneven distribution of various types of capital that influence the formation of the opposite fields of supply and demand, the development of global information space for the formation of new structures and relations in the sphere of production and consumption of services. At this, the service space itself is transformed into the plexus of information flows, communication, exchanges, services, and is allocated from the total integrity of social space, gaining recognizable features and being institutionalized. The main conclusions of this work can be used in the framework of the sociology of service, for the further development of the theory of service applied in the management of service processes.

Key words: service, service space, service practices, fields of consumption and service, social mechanisms of service space development.
