Abstract. The article provides theoretical analysis of modern studies of music formative potential that became the basis of studying the secondary musical personality phenomenon. The author focuses on understanding nature of the special anthropological type of Homo musicus living within musical culture; his psyche and existence in society, interpretation of relationship between objective reality and subjective reflection. The author briefly reviews studies of the music phenomenon and musical culture, conducted in various fields of study, stresses psychological kinship of music and speech. The article reflects understanding of music as a system of relationship the main elements of which are person, world and semiotic body that mediates interaction between them (“language of music”); study of secondary language personality. The conclusions presented in the article justify and prove the relevant author’s concept of secondary musical personality, its study in interdisciplinary discourse and its development in the process of education.
