Abstract. The article deals with the prospects of studying social memory from the viewpoint of the actor-network theory. The methodological and categorial dictionary of the actor-network theory allows to reveal dynamic measurement of social memory. Joining in network structures, social memory loses the integrity and is defined by the communications arising between places of social memory. Communications caused a sociality of memory. The dynamic understanding of social memory allows to rethink the settled ideas of the past and the present. In the context of network research temporary procedurality is not the dominating factor as by means of memory the past becomes the staticized (present). From positions of network approach the existing classification of types of social memory is overestimated. Actor-network theory levels basic distinction between local (individual) and global (collective) memory types owing to understanding of social memory as a network matrix.
Key words: social memory, actor-network theory, topos, history, network.
