Abstract: The article makes light on the potentialities of the contemporary Russian cultural studies concerning formation of the All-Russian national identity. Some special attention is paid to the common cultural past of the peoples living in the Siberian regions of the Russian Federation. There have been distinguished the reference points, «cultural heroes», the elicitation of which can help to form social consciousness by means of the current technologies at the humanities and social studies based on the cultural investigations. The cultural heroes of the Siberian regions of the Russian Federations are Yermak and the members of Yermak's campaign in Siberia, exiled people, migrants, Petr Arkad'evich Stolypin, the founders of the Siberian towns, and the participants in Siberian building projects in the 20th century. There have been drawn the conclusion that the Russian national identity is impossible to be formed without formation of territorial specific cultural bearers in the current period of global processes.
