Abstract. In this article the analysis of the narrative approach to the studying of major life events is presented. Narrative as the subjective representation of personal experience is the subject matter of research of many branches of knowledge: philosophy, history, cultural studies, psychology and others. The main unit of the narrative analysis is an event. The concept of major life event represents an integrating phenomenon of intrapsychic phenomena and social conditions.
