Absract. The actual theoretical analysis is directed to the description of the theoretical basis for considering professional self-consciousness as a stage of an individual's socialization. This analysis includes considering such points as definition of the notion, which is called "professional self-determination"; the stages of professional personality becoming; three paradigms of socializing. The concept of professional self-determination is presented as the level of subjectness. Professional self- consciousness is the main feature of this level.
