Abstract. The article compares on the basis of a qualitative made in Germany case study the processes of acculturation of migrants in the receiving institutions of post-secondary education. The behavior of the study group of migrants is characterized by the maintenance of relations with the countries of origin with the openness to the German students. This behavior allows combining mutual aid, and knowledge of the new culture. In general, the University environment is not conducive to the migrants' closure among compatriots, although it may lead to a decrease in the language proficiency.
