Abstract. The article deals with modern technology of social services for elderly people in Russia and on the example of the Republic of Buryatia. The author studies the changes in the legislation of the Russian Federation, in the ideology of social services, as well as new social technologies (mobile teams, field meetings, social taxi “alarm button”) and the problems of their application. It is noted that the traditional forms of social services, such as social services at home, half-stationary social services, common social services, social and advisory services focused only on a small portion of the elderly population. They require more financial and human resources. Therefore, a special role in the article is given to the analysis of familybased social services for elderly people in the Republic of Buryatia. In old age the value of the family and family forms of care for the older generation increases. Happy family relationships are the basis of social capital in their old age. A sociological study of motives of creation, problems and prospects of development of foster families was conducted among elderly people and assistants (caregivers). Research methods include questionnaires and interviews. Changes in family structure, social status and family life cycle and the difficulty of adaptation of new family members will serve as a widespread obstacle for family-based care for the older generation. The presented results allowed formulating conclusions that the development of modern technologies of social services contributes to intergenerational solidarity and the creation of a society for people of all ages.

Key words: aging of population, elderly people, social sphere, social protection, social services, social technologies, family forms, foster family.
