Abstract. The idea of the "end of history" is investigated in the ideological context of globalization. The various versions of this idea exist within liberal, postmodernist and even traditionalist discourses. All these versions are considered as specific globalization scenarios. In other words, there is a close connection between the concept of globalization and popular versions of the "end of history". All interpretations of the "end of history" always presuppose the emergency of specific global post-historic state – this gives us an opportunity to consider them as the ideological support of globalization. Therefore, it is possible to discuss the dualistic nature of globalization, which at the same time reveals itself as natural process and as system of competitive scenarios.

Key words: globalization, ideology, end of history, liberalism, postmodernism, traditionalism.
