Abstract. The purpose of this study is to make hermeneutic algorithm, which is the technique that can be applied step by step to any text with the aim of its interpretation. This study is based on the tradition of philosophical hermeneutics, but along with generalization, the article contains the recommendations, obtained in the process of group practical research of legal, fiction and visual texts. This article proposes the universal phased method of working with texts that can be adapted to the variety of professions. The article describes the ratio of such work elements as the explanation and understanding at each stage. Thus, the work can be useful to a wide range of educators and researchers who work with texts.
