Abstract. The article deals with the development of public spaces, connected with ecology of visual and kinesthetic perception, since rethinking urban heritage of the modernism era before the invasion of new media technologies requires serious reflection. The emphasis is on the interactions of the inner world of man and the architecture of the modern city. Visual images of the urban environment actively influence on psycho-emotional state of the person. Most of the modern urban planning decisions do not take into account the natural human need to be in a state of resonance with its environment. This reduces the social effectiveness of public urban spaces and requires a competent professional intervention, especially in the process of forming the subject-spatial environment and filling it with details.
Key words: architectural formation, visual ecology, urban environment, digital architecture, media technologies, neo-urbanism.
