Abstract: The article presents an attempt of the philosophical interpretation of personal and social identity formation. The corporality phenomenon role in the modern social space is determined. The author offers interpretation of social identity category and suggests analysis revealing the human strive towards active life, self-knowledge, self-improvement as well as self and civil responsibility through the adaptation and identification contexts.
